Hans-Konrad Bettler (1940-2021 ) "Cobet"
Swiss painter Hans Konrad (Coni) Bettler, born in Gstaad, signed his works as Cobet.
He attended school in Gstaad, where his parents ran a clothing store.
After graduating from high school, he studied art history, German studies, and Romance studies in Basel and at the Sorbonne.
In 1877, he became a freelance artist.
His subjects included landscapes and backyards, street cafés, mountain villages, and fishing boats on the Mediterranean.
As the proprietor of a café, he wrote radio plays and other texts.
He was married to the painter Kathrin Leder.
